Well, not the best record in baseball – that belongs to the Cubs, ant the Nationals have a better record too – but the rest holds true.

Plus, who said bullpen roles are set in stone? Move guys around until you find the right mix. If Soria starts locating to RHH, move him back. Too big a deal is made of these roles.

After reading Royals Twitter, I don’t know why it’s such blasphemy to state that Soria’s been struggling. For every logical, well-reasoned statement that “maybe the backend should be Hoch-Herrera-Davis”, you immediately get told

“Calm down”
“Relax”
“It’s only April”
“We have the best record in baseball”

All are true – but the facts are there. Soria simply isn’t getting outs, and he’s consistently in high-leverage situations. Maybe moving him to the Hoch role is a better, more natural fit.
