Steve,

Thank you very much for the comment. They produced Salvador Perez, Moustakas and Hosmer with either Whit, Cuthbert or Mondesi as possibilities so it's not as bad as it looks on the surface with positional players. It's the extra 10% of offensive value that you get out of most MVP candidates that they have yet to produce but they have made up for that with elite defensive ability that they produce.

On the pitching side Duffy, Ventura, Manaea have shaken off the tree and quite a few bullpen arms so I think they're pretty solid on that end. Again it's the 10% to create an elite starter, but they deserve a lot of credit for getting Greinke to the next level.

Salvy is definitely a franchise player and I'm confident that one day will have a statue out there with Frank and George.

Thanks Clint with this series on Royals prospects. It has been an enjoyable read, as it looks like Royals have the capability to graduate productive rookies like they did with Matt Strahm this past year. Without your analysis earlier, I feel much more troubled about the Royals bullpen, but with Andrew Edwards, Josh Staumont, Corey Ray, and Yunior Marte in the pipeline, it feels like the Royals will be fine. As usual, it seems Royals and the entire league have a difficult time developing pitchers. And for the Royals, hitters. It seems like Royals have a large dry spell of developing franchise players. Their best player on the team, it seems, is Lorenzo Cain, a traded player, not someone who Royals developed themselves. I hope someone will breakout big and be an anchor player for the Royals and sign long-term. Maybe Duffy, maybe Moustakos. Hopefully Mondesi and Strahm.
