I doubt that they will resign Escobar unless it&#039;s very late in the free agency season and the other chairs are gone. If it&#039;s a total tear down they would be better off letting Raul Mondesi develop and struggle like they did with Alcides prior.

He has been a loyal trooper for Ned, but most other managers won&#039;t treasure his (ahem) skill set.  His plate approach would be the same if he played 2B or SS, and why would Royals not go with cheaper options in middle infield.]]></description>
