I doubt that they will resign Escobar unless it’s very late in the free agency season and the other chairs are gone. If it’s a total tear down they would be better off letting Raul Mondesi develop and struggle like they did with Alcides prior.

He has been a loyal trooper for Ned, but most other managers won’t treasure his (ahem) skill set. His plate approach would be the same if he played 2B or SS, and why would Royals not go with cheaper options in middle infield.
