If Hosmer signs somewhere else, he is the only guy with 1B experience in the majors in the roster. I know Cuthbert has played some in spring training (and made some nice plays), but I am not sure he is much more than an emergency fill in. O’Hearn might give as much production as Moss (as might Cost Ashe), so it wouldn’t be the worst thing if they cut him. If Hosmer does sign, Moss would be taking away AB’s from young guys who need to show what they have (Soler, Dozier, etc.)
