I think the collusion theories aren't taking one thing into consideration: bad contracts! The NBA has realized the same mistake. Unlike the NFL, these contracts are guaranteed and from Alex Gordon to Kung Fu Panda, to Aroldis Chapman, Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols, Mike Hampton, Jason Heyward, and even Alex Rodriguez, etc they all failed to live up to their contracts. I think teams are finally saying "Ok, before Bryce Harper and Mike Trout sign 500 million dollar deals, we need to stop letting money burn a hole in our pockets." One way to do that is by adding a salary cap, but since that isn't going to happen....the other way is to sign shorter deals for less money. Todd Frazier isn't great. I honestly feel this contract is a bit more fair. For Moose, I think he deserves 12-14 mil a year for 3-4 years, but I'm sure he wants more because prior to this year he would have gotten it. Unfortunately, I think it is a domino effect. Once one team or two teams start saying "Nope" everyone realizes they can say no as well.

With the Mets' signing of Todd Frazier, that opens up a third-base position for the Yankees. Could it be that they are posturing for a Moustakis signing? While Moose would probably love playing in southern California, do you think he would turn down a chance to play for the emerging Yankees, who have undergone a rebuilding process without having a negative win-loss record? Of course, it's only conjecture, but a Moustakis signing by the Yankees would be a win-win situation. Unfortunately, for the Royals' fans, it would mean no more "Mooooooooose" calls.
