Will have to see more of Phillips and Lopez but with Soler, as usual, on the DL this gives the chance to add talent to the OF as Gordon is about done and Bonifacio may not be a regular. With Lopez, he may be another Staumont, who as I recall is improving his command. Or he could be Mauer. Either way it looks a step toward building around what looks to an interesting group of young SPs already here or close.

Hope Moose gets another ring. He gave us all he had and never embarrassed the franchise or city. Best of luck to him and GO Brew Crew!

At some point, if you don’t recognize and platoon players you start to hurt them because they start to make changes that may hurt them. I hope he doesn’t affect Tim Hill by not making him a LOOGY.

He struggles with lefties, and this will let any number of right-handed hitters get a few ABs in left. Gordo has been a great warrior, but the time for developing the next crop of Royals is past-due. If Ned cannot bring himself to do this (or be creative in the pen), then one has to wonder about his ability to handle this rebuild.
