Don’t forget that Merrifield hit .265 in AAA in 2015/2016. It’s a data point even if it isn’t as relevant as his 2018. Also, it’s based on comparable players and aging curves. I, too, would take the over on Whit, but that’s a small snippet of where it comes from.

When Merrifield has never hit below .283 and is averaging .293 for his short career, how can they project .274. What do they base that on?
