I don't think much effect on credibility will take place. Extensions aren't accepted by players based on playing their career in one place as much as securing "now" money over the risk of going to free agency.

I really hope they don't trade Duffy. I believe it will severely hamper the team's credibility with signing their own players in the future. I know this FO has signed other of its own players (Gordon, Perez, Ventura, ect.), but I believe this will be a long term hamper for this team.

When the best hitter in this year's free agent market, 2 of the top 3 finishers in last year's AL MVP race and 2 of the last 3 AL MVP's were never "too prospects," I put little faith in those lists.

I wouldn't be surprised if Whit was included in a deal with them at all. In fact it's probably likely but that muddy's up the water at that point. I was just trying to show who the Royals would be interested in based on who that have shown interest in the past.

In reality if Whit was involved there is some chance that Villar would come back to the Royals depending on salary relief they might provide.

I too think a trade will happen and will include Duffy and Whit for 4 Brewer minor leaguers. I think Harrison will be one of them but think the pitchers have to be higher than #23 Medieros and #24 Bickford. I would rather see #4 Brandon Woodruff or #7 Corbin Burnes at the top end of the list. The other may be #26 OF Larry Ernesto who is just getting started but has good potential.
