The Naturals Yender Caramo couldn’t close things out in the first game of their series with Springfield Monday, giving up a two-run two-out double to lose this one in walkoff fashion. Prior to the rally, starter Matt Strahm had given NW Arkansas seven innings of quality pitching with five strikeouts on just 86 pitches, 63 of which found the zone. The lefty did yield a pair of solo home runs and a double, but was able to mitigate damage by walking just one and picking one off of the bases. Second baseman Ramon Torres put together his fourth two-hit game in the last ten that he has played.
