Episode 18 of WalkOff Talk is brought to you by Marvin Pest Control, Inc. Ben and Audra kick off this episode by bringing you the results of their Oscars guessing competition from last week, but since there’s actually interesting baseball discussion to have this week, they don’t waste too much time on that. In the meat of the show, they each choose two players they’re going to keep an eye on during Spring Training in the hopes of seeing those players improve enough to be key pieces to the 2014 squad. Then they discuss some of the stuff that will be new for 2014, such as the first use of the new replay rule in a Spring Training game, and the new defensive metrics MLB will be rolling out to measure things like route efficiency in the outfield. They close it up with what Audra learned, a revelation from Ben about something new he’s trying, and a short sneak preview of next week.
